The NJ Hydroelectric Power Station project is located in the Kashmir region, with a dam constructed on the Nirum River to divert water downstream through a diversion tunnel to a generator set about 28.6 kilometers away for power generation. The total installed capacity of the power station is 969 megawatts, with an annual power generation of approximately 5.15 billion kilowatt hours, accounting for 12% of Pakistan's hydroelectric power generation. It can solve the electricity shortage problem of 15% of Pakistan's population and bring in a fiscal revenue of 45 billion rupees. It is known as Pakistan's "Three Gorges Project".

The NJ hydropower station is a classic project in the history of world hydropower construction, which combines numerous world-class technical challenges. China Energy Engineering Gezhouba Group serves as the general contractor for the construction of the civil engineering part。
