The Beijing Shanghai High speed Railway, also known as the Beijing Shanghai High speed Railway or the Beijing Shanghai Passenger Dedicated Line, is a high-speed railway that connects Beijing and Shanghai. It is one of the "Eight Verticals and Eight Horizontals" high-speed railway main channels in the 2016 revised "Medium - and Long Term Railway Network Plan" and is one of the busiest and most promising high-speed railways for passenger transportation in China.
The Beijing Shanghai high-speed railway officially started construction on April 18, 2008; On June 30, 2011, the entire line was officially opened to traffic, with an initial operating speed of 300 kilometers per hour.
